Day 365
Stream Start!
A blinking red dot appeared on top of the status window. After minimizing it, the blinking red dot remained.
Between the system message of "Stream Start" and the telltale sign of a recording camera, there was only one conclusion to be drawn here. This broadcast had started.
And you, dear viewer, have tuned in.
A viewer count displaying the number one blinked into existence next to the blinking red light.
The ragged blonde, half their thick, tangled curly hair burnt off, looked into the blinking camera with the one eye they had uncovered.
"oh."
"hello."
"i'm not sure what i exactly expected that to do, but... that wasn't it."
For a moment after the greeting, they walked in silence - almost disregarding you entirely.
"sorry that you, uh, just tuned in to me walking through a ruined city silently."
"i was kind of in the middle of something before you showed up."
For a long while, they kept walking in silence.
The area was completely wracked with rubble. Buildings that still stood tall were few and far between.
"from the fact that you haven't clicked off yet... i'm guessing you wanna hear a story or something?"
"i'd treat that as a proper question for you to answer, but... i don't know if you can send messages in a chat or whatever."
"guessing you can't, from the lack of uh. getting anything there."
"but still. you've gotta be here for a reason, right? you wanna hear about how all this ended up getting wrecked?"
"from the name of the feature that brought you here, i'm guessing you don't know."
"probably best if i start from the beginning, though."
"yeah. for the sake of making sure you're all caught up, let's start at day 1 of this goddamn disaster."
