Planet [Earth]: Rewards package arrived!
"oh... nice."
After awakening and going out to their balcony once again, our hero still did not see any signs of the "Chaos Worlds" yesterday's message had mentioned.
"good stuff."
Swiping the notification of the rewards package's arrival away, a second notification appeared thereafter.
To the survivors of the first day, congratulations! As a reward for that survival: Phase 2 - rewards package has arrived! To check your rewards package, verbally or in your ‘internal dialogue’, say the words [Status Window]. Happy hunting!
The individual frowned.
"survivors?"
"..."
"people died, then. i'll be damned."
Swiping away this new notification as well, they let loose a sigh.
"internal dialogue? yeah, right. as if those are real."

The one named Tree read the status window quietly, before their eyes finally reached the end.
Overall Rating: This individual has decent potential. A solid build, half decent skills, and a calm demeanor in the face of the unknown! However, their ace in the hole seems to go directly against their stat spread... How unfortunate! However, take the right path and surely you'll find your way in this new world. Rank: A.
For a little while longer, Tree gazed upon the status window before swiping it away, wearing a puzzled expression.
"not the worst... but also not the best."
"a-rank's gotta be good enough to survive for a good while, though."
Pacing around the room, Tree scratched at their chin.
"it's not main character material. if things fall into line according to the tropes, he'll make his debut in korea sometime soon."
"i wonder who it'll end up being, though... a shadow necromancer? guy who read about all this happening before it happened? regressor on their 20th turn?"
"agh, whatever. no matter what triple-S rank skills he'll have over the rest of us won't matter. better that i just focus on surviving for now."
While pondering about who their savior may be if not themselves, Tree wandered to their closet and picked up a thick leather jacket.
"my clothes had stats, so maybe..?"

D-Rank: Letterman Jacket: Non-magical jacket, but defensively capable. Adds E-Rank Passive Skill: Physical Endurance to the wearer.
"how about that?"
Perusing the rest of their garments, Tree searched for others that had similar effects. Until nightfall, they rifled through all of the clothing they owned. The most notable were as such:
C-Rank: Puff Jacket: Non-magical garment, but warm. Adds C-Rank Passive Skill: Cold Resistance to the wearer.
D-Rank: Work Uniform: Non-magical garment. Adds D-Rank Active Skill: Miraculous Bakery to the wearer.
C-Rank: Winter Boots: Non-magical footwear. Adds D-Rank Passive Skill: Cold Resistance to the wearer.
D-Rank: High Heels: Non-magical footwear. Adds C-Rank Passive Skill: Aristocrat's Authority to the wearer. Reduces DEX by 10.
But most notable of all was their daily wear, a raggedy black hooded jacket. It did not provide much warmth, nor did it provide much physical protection. However, it had been Tree's go-to jacket for 5 years. A gift from their father that they resolved to use daily.

The warm smile that had grown across their face when equipping the jacket dropped.
Amidst all this excitement, of a fictional scenario they've read of a thousand times coming true, they lost sight of how others were affected by this.
How their family was affected by this.
Pouncing on their phone, Tree quickly opened their messages with their father. Then, their brother.
However, neither were accessible. The internet was out. It could only be assumed that with the connection of Earth and the Chaos Worlds, the required infrastructure for the internet had somehow been destroyed.
"shit!"
Panic clear on their face, Tree paced around the room once more.
"if the internet's out, then planes, too..."
"how on earth am i meant to make sure they're both alright?"
"for justice it would be fine. if the trains are still up, he's only a few hours away. and if they aren't, it's a day's bike trip at most.
"but dad... if the airports are as gone as the web, i would need some way to teleport, or fly, or something, but..."
"agh!"
Tree suddenly punched a hole through one of their walls.
"status window."
Looking through every item in their home, they found nothing that could execute either of those routes. Their eyes falling upon their list of skills, only one seemed to be useful in the slightest.
"if the airports are out, my best hope is finding and taming a mount. i don't know what the hell kind of monsters come from a chaos world, but..."
"scratch that. for now, i can hope that transport hasn't been taken out yet. that way, i can check up on justice on the way."
"then, if all goes well, we can check on dad together."
"if that fails, i'll look for a giant eagle or something to ride over the pacific on."
Reaching into their closet, Tree went to pick up one more item. The very item that had given them the "Hobbyist Swordsmanship" skill; their first sparring sword.
D-Rank: Metronome: Magical Longsword. Made from albeit high quality plastic with little Mana infused, this is not too powerful a sword; but one's first flame will never fail to spark. +10 Attack Power.
Note: Attack Power is a weapon's equivalent to Strength. Both are equal, with Damage to Foes being calculated as such: [STR]+[AP]-[Foe DEX].
After their item searching spree, it was almost the witching hour. With renewed motivation, Tree left into the night. Into Day 3.
